NEKEDE POLY SUSPENDS LECTURER,OKOROAFOR IFEANYICHUKWU FOR BEATING UP A STUDENT

The management of Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Imo State, has suspended a lecturer, Mr. Okoroafor Ifeanyichukwu, for allegedly beating up a student .  A video making the rounds on social media shows the lecturer approaching the student in the midst of other students, slapping and hitting him, amidst shouts from bystanders. A letter of suspension from the Polytechnic, signed by the Director of the Technical and Entrepreneurship Development Centre, P.C. Okoye, and titled “Suspension from Duty – Mr Okoroafor Ifeanyichukwu,” stated that the suspension takes immediate effect. A six-year-old girl, Ella, fatally shot a 28-year-old American police officer last month after witnessing her mother being restrained by law enforcement. The incident occurred when Ella’s mother left her inside the car and went into a supermarket to purchase a 75-inch television. After completing her purchase, she was stopped at the store’s exit and asked to present her receipt, as per store policy. However, she couldn’t find it despite searching everywhere. She then returned to the cashier who had issued the receipt and asked him to explain to security that she had genuinely bought the television. The cashier confirmed her claim, but a security guard insisted that she must present the receipt before leaving. MAN WHO STRANGLED GIRLFRIEND IN AKWA-IBOM ARRAIGNED

Police authorities in Akwa-Ibom State have announced the commencement of the prosecution of the 32-year-old man, Ndifreke Nelson, who strangled his estranged girlfriend, Emem Effanga, aged 39 to death in February. According to the police, Effanga was found unconscious in her apartment and later pronounced dead at an undisclosed hospital. Mr. Nelson was later arrested, according to Police spokesman, DSP Timfon John, who issued a statement in Uyo on Monday, March 17. He said that the police received a report about the victim’s condition and promptly visited the scene, where they observed visible marks of violence on Effanga’s face and neck, suggesting she may have been strangled. Investigations led the police to identify Nelson, who was reportedly the last person seen with the deceased. It was revealed that he had visited Effanga’s residence on the morning of his birthday, February 6, 2025.
